Mrs. Dorene Penny

My name is Dorene Penny and I am the 6th grade ILA teacher, 7th grade religion teacher and 8th grade ILA co- teacher. I am certified K-8 from Bloomsburg University. I received my Masters from Kean University and I am a certified Reading Specialist. I also hold a certificate in Administration and Supervision. I have completed over 90+ hours towards my doctoral degree at Rutgers University. I taught for 11 years before taking a break to be a stay at home Mom. I returned to teaching 6 years ago in a local public school district. I am thrilled to be part of Holy Cross Academy, where I see such GREAT things happening.

In my spare time, I love to do all things outdoors. I LOVE to travel and experience new things and new cultures. I love to spend time with my family, friends and my dog.

I love to learn about my students' lives, their families, their loves and their fears. I love music (I never pass up a live concert no matter what type of music it is), books, rainstorms and playing in the snow, the surf and the sand. Come say hello anytime!
